Introduction to the Spiritual & Cultural Department (SCD)

At Gopal's Garden High School, education is valued as a platform for transformation, not just as a means to convey information. Our Spiritual & Cultural Department (SCD) is committed to nurturing young boys and girls into individuals who exhibit integrity, empathy, wisdom, and responsibility.

The department pursues a philosophy that does not merely focus on making education a part of the student’s life as usual but aims at empowering the students to learn from every experience.

The curriculum of the SCD is specially designed to ensure the holistic development of pupils through four main areas of growth:

  • Physical Development: Healthy practices, discipline, and self-care.
  • Emotional Development: Empathy, resilience, gratitude, and emotional quotient.
  • Intellectual Development: Critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and continuous learning.
  • Spiritual Development: Universal values, self-awareness, devotion, and purpose of life.

In general, the SCD’s goal is to help students become self-disciplined and responsible individuals who bring about a change in their family, community, and society keeping in line with the vision of the school ‘Living with excellence, giving with benevolence’.

For these objectives, the SCD offers students the following facilities:

  • ➣Values-based assembly program in the mornings
  • ➣Celebrations of cultural and spiritual festivals
  • ➣Learning trips and service activities
  • ➣Heritage and culture excursions
  • ➣Various interactive sessions, competitions, and outreach programs

One of the main strengths of the SCD is its value-based curriculum that is carefully planned to meet the needs of each year of the study. The syllabus includes wisdom, life skills, character education, leadership, and implementation.

Vedic Art and Culture (VAC) (Value Added Curriculum)

The Spiritual & Cultural Department conducts structured Vedic Art and Culture (VAC) classes from Grades 1 to 10 which functions as value added curriculum. The curriculum, designed by H.G. Shubha Vilasa Prabhu, integrates timeless wisdom from the Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, Ramayana, Mahabharata and the lives of great devotees with age-appropriate stories, activities, discussions, reflections and practical application. Each VAC lesson nurtures values, life skills, leadership, devotion and responsible citizenship, enabling students to transform knowledge into character and service.
